Personal Growth and Small Groups

Youth Groups

Clackamas UCC has a vital ministry with youth. See the Youth Groups page for details.

Wonder Wednesday Programs
We gather to explore and celebrate God's world on Wednesdays during the academic year and during the summer months. See the Youth Groups page for details.

Women's Circle

Women's Circle meets Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Women's Circle (originally Ladies' Aid) has been meeting at our church since 1895.

They have come together to have lunch, share their lives, and create crafts for the Holiday Bazaar. Women of all ages are invited to attend.

Art & Spirit Circle

Once a month, on Saturdays, the Art & Spirit Circle comes together to work on ways we can nurture creativity in our lives.

Working from Julia Cameron's books, such as "The Artist's Way." We spend time discussing how creativity is spiritual, and then do hands-on art projects. We also go on field trips.

Choir and Special Music
Our church is fortunate to have a talented and dedicated choir director and organist — Jean Herrera. Jean grew up in our congregation, and generously shares her musical gifts with the church. She encourages folks to join the choir and share their musical gifts by providing special music. The choir practices on Wednesday evenings. Instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages are encouraged to participate in our worship services.

Movie Night

We have a "Monday Night at The Movies" once a month. We either watch a film at the church or go out together to the theater.

Book Club

Book club meets once a month on Monday night.

Council Membership & Committee Involvement

An excellent way to be involved at Clackamas UCC is to take on a leadership role. Committees seek out individuals with skills and talents needed. These are diverse and require varied amounts of time. Committees chose a representative or chairperson to serve on the Church Council. See the Committees page for more information.

The Council also includes a moderator, vice moderator, treasurer, secretary, and financial secretary. All are elected at a congregational meeting.

Mission and Outreach Projects
Another way to be part of our church's life is to get involved with the various mission and outreach projects. These are all-church, intergenerational endeavors. From collecting food for the hungry to advocating for homeless youth, all projects are worthy of time and energy.

Bible Study and Classes
Christian education classes are offered for preschool/kindergartners through adults. Our teachers use curriculum prepared by the United Church of Christ, and Clackamas UCC learning units we call "pods". Special study groups are offered throughout the year. Childcare is provided for those children too young to attend a church school class.

Special Events and Inter-generational Programs
We have a number of special events and programs throughout the year. See the Special Events page for details on upcoming events.
