King's Cupboard Pantry Needs: Volunteers
Do you have a few hours to spare to help King's Cupboard? If so, we'd love to have your help. We need a few more volunteers to help regularly, occasionally or be “on call” to fill in for last min-ute needs. Most tasks take between 1 and 3 hours.
Drivers -- pick up bread, serve as backup drivers for weekly Oregon Food Bank loads, collect donated pet food or produce . . . Shelf Stockers - help sort donations, receive Oregon Food Bank loads, and work with others to ensure shelves are stocked in preparation for distribution days.
Distribution day workers - assist with a variety of tasks greeting and serving clients.
For more info, please contact the volunteer coordinator, Charlotte Cunningham - 503-653-1723 cunninghamcr@comcast.net.
Patti Hanson also volunteers at the pantry, and she can answer questions about what it is like to be a volunteer there.
Thanks to everyone for your faithful pantry support. We deeply appreciate the generous donations of food, funds and volunteer hours. With your help, we are making a difference in our community. So far this year (through 3/11), King’s Cupboard has served 761 people in 226 families.
Wednesday’s Women’s Circle Invites Newcomers!! No Sewing Required!
In February the Wednesday Women’s Circle begin meeting again after taking a break after the church Christmas bazaar. We are happy to once again enjoy each others companionship, share social time and have lunch together. Last fall the women furnished funds to have the striping re-applied to the parking lot for safety.
A big thank you to the trustees for their hard work in accomplishing that task. Last month, a new fold-up ladder was purchased for better access into the attic.
We would love to have anyone come join us or stop by for a visit & lunch. We meet each Wednesday from 10:00 to about 1:30 in the church. We work on sewing projects together, but you don’t need to sew to participate. For such a small circle of women, we feel mighty and continue to work for the betterment of the church and our community.
